Signs 2000 Novices Hurdle (CLASS 4) (4yo+) Soft 2m
2m Soft Dec: Top weights favored where ability is clearly superior.
2m G/S May: (CLASS 4) (4yo+) : Such a horse (topweight with superior ability) was a non-runner here.
That left few with any noticeable ability and only 2 weight classes. In those circumstances the clear leading course jockey on volume
and strike rate took it.

Key: JFC/sr, speed
Following the general guidance for Handicap Hurdles even on BR courses would have mislead here. For the second time today at this course,
and most notable given that this is an amateur jockeys contest, jockeyship was key. Making a shortlist from the top three (and only) JFC/sr
candidates and then comparing the speed capabilities of their mounts would have pointed to the winner here who was #3 JFC/sr (20%) and among
the top 3, clear leader on speed. Note that the sole distance winner in the race was nowhere. The horses with minimal handicap exposure
(including the other two JFCs) came nowhere. The horses in the mid-weight range and top-weight came nowhere. So this race was very specific
and jockeyship was very significant for second time today here.
