Recent running showed best to start with distance winners, isolate leading course trainers (on volume) among them. Favour trainers with multiple entries.

Leading course trainer on strike rate % ignoring single volume (1/2, 50%) beat the odds-on favoured clear volume leading stable into second in a very small field (four horses). Both were distance winners. Winner was (C)(D) and other was (CD). R/u was winner over the going and winner was not.
