Your Free Tips For Today...

Ludlow 8.10 Firm Order WON 3/1 is the selection of the general profile whilst Profiles 1 and top-ranking Profile 2 go for Oursininlaw. NR Currently losing Profile 4 favours Enchanted Approach on race experience but also quite likes Creswell Bubbles as a potential spoiler but currently this Profile's performance does not merit serious consideration. The local profile however does and this one too is split between Paddy Rielly and Anquetta. 2nd 4/6

A Study Of Novices' Hurdles Using Profiles in May - The Story So Far

This month we are continuing to focus on Novices' Hurdles. There is a general profile (also known as Profile 0 or P0), three alternative profiles (P1, P2 and P4 also known as The Wetherby), a local profile (depending on the race course) and sometimes a local spoiler profile. Of course, that's a lot of profiles but, since we started this study in earnest early in April, a Novices' Hurdle has not been run wherein the winner did not meet at least one or more of these profiles. That is until the weekend meeting at Hexham when none of the profiles succceeded in selecting either of the winners. Also in the second of two Novices' Hurdles at Newton Abbot Tuesday night where point-to-point winner Red Twist won at 33/1. Then to top it all, odds-on faourite Frosted Grape, selected by all profiles yesterday failed to win. Still, that's well over twenty races that we have shortlisted and the shortlist has included the winner every time. Good news for bookies and lay-betters most of all as of course they can select any horse not listed and lay that horse for an almost guaranteed successful return.

The profiles themselves have been detailed often in these pages including in last Thursday's preview but from now on, we will focus not so much on the actual profiles themselves, which will continue to be easily accessible at the site, but with their performance at providing winners each day and their profitability comparisons over the course of the month of May. By examining the May records to date of each of the profiles below, you can make an informed judgement as to which profile you might like to consider when perusing the tips at the top of the page.

We were off to a flying start in May in all but three profiles: Profile 4, the local spoiler profile and the special mares profile (Profile 3) which has only been used twice so far producing one winner and one runner-up. These are the only ones making a loss on any investments to date during May. All the rest have so far turned a profit and are listed below in order of their present profitability to a 10.00 stake.
